Russia lost 1,260 soldiers over the past day, Ukraine says

Russia has lost an estimated 1,260 soldiers killed or wounded over the past day, along with three tanks and more than 400 vehicles and fuel tankers, according to an update from Ukraine's General Staff.

The Ukrainian military also reported 65 artillery systems, 13 ground robotic systems, one armoured combat vehicle and eight special vehicles among Russia's latest losses. It said the figures were being confirmed.

Ukraine's cumulative estimate of Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 5, 2026, includes approximately 1,495,050 military personnel, 12,328 tanks, 25,273 armoured combat vehicles and 49,227 artillery systems.

The tally also lists 2,093 multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,604 air-defence systems, 441 fixed-wing aircraft, 355 helicopters, 499,809 operational-tactical drones, 5,070 cruise missiles, 35 ships or boats, two submarines, 144,043 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,644 special vehicles and other equipment.
