Russia reports deaths and injuries after Ukrainian drone attacks

Two people were killed in Russia in drone attacks attributed to Ukraine, according to local authorities. One person died in the Perm region, where four others were reportedly injured after a residential building was damaged.

Perm regional Governor Dmitry Makhonin said local air defenses had shot down 27 drones. Earlier reports described explosions in Perm, and residents posted photographs and videos showing drones in the sky and air defenses operating.

Initial information suggested that the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery may have been hit. A black column of smoke was visible near the facility, which the report described as one of Russia’s largest oil refineries.

Explosions and activated air defenses were also reported in the Rostov region and the Chuvash Republic. In the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, local authorities said another person was killed and one was injured.
