Russia Reports Drone Attack, Fire at Military Base in Saratov Region

Russia has reported a drone attack in the Saratov region, which resulted in a fire at a military facility. Residents of Engels reported a fire in the city overnight, coinciding with a missile and drone warning being issued for the area.

Analysis of eyewitness footage by ASTRA OSINT indicates the fire occurred in a building on Engels-1 street, believed to be part of a military unit. This location is situated near the Engels-2 military airfield. This same airfield was the target of a Ukrainian attack on July 16, which reportedly damaged a Tu-95MS strategic bomber and missile carrier.

Russian monitoring channels reported drone threats across several regions throughout the previous night. These included areas such as Belgorod, Tambov, Ryazan, and Volgograd, as well as the temporarily occupied Crimea. In response to the perceived threats, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviacia) temporarily closed Moscow's Domodedovo Airport on Friday evening. However, the restrictions were lifted approximately half an hour later.
