Russia warns of dangerous signs in Moldova, citing 'same scheme as Ukraine'

Russia's ambassador to Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, has accused Western countries of arming Moldova and preparing it for war with Russia, drawing parallels to the situation in Ukraine. In an interview with the Russian state news agency TASS, Ozerov asserted that Moldova's rapid militarization is driven solely by the interests of its Western "curators."

Official Chisinau's chosen course of rapid militarization is based exclusively on the interests of Western curators. The latter are futilely striving for Russia's 'strategic defeat' and are talking about readiness for an armed clash with it by 2030.

According to Ozerov, these Western powers are pursuing Russia's "strategic defeat" and are preparing for an armed confrontation by 2030. He claims that Western nations are already utilizing Moldovan territory to support the interests of the Ukrainian armed forces, a development he described as "alarming" for local residents.

The West is already using Moldova's territory in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which 'cannot but cause concern' for local residents.

The ambassador specifically pointed to the production of drone components, anti-drone equipment, electronic warfare systems, and the training of drone operators in Moldova. He alleged that the West is employing the same strategy in Moldova that he claims was used in Ukraine, which he characterized as preparing a "cannon fodder" role for the country to inflict maximum damage on Russia.

Ozerov further contended that Western countries are arming the Moldovan military, strengthening its infrastructure, and sending NATO instructors to the republic. He also directed criticism at Western non-governmental organizations, accusing them of promoting Russophobic sentiments and attempting to "rewrite history." The ambassador stated that Russia is closely monitoring these trends, with particular attention to the rights of Russian-speaking citizens in Moldova.
