Russia warns UK over British drones used in Ukraine attacks

Russia has issued a stern warning to the United Kingdom, threatening repercussions following reports that British-designed drones were employed in Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. The Russian embassy in London declared Britain complicit in the attacks and accused it of fueling escalation.

"The deeper the country is involved in the conflict and the greater the country's support for Kyiv's terror machinery, the higher the price they will have to pay," the embassy stated. This warning comes after The Sunday Times reported that drones manufactured by two British firms were used by Ukraine to target military and industrial sites within Russia.

A spokesperson for the UK's Ministry of Defence, however, affirmed the UK's unwavering support for Ukraine. "Britain stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and we are committed to providing the equipment that Ukraine needs to defend itself against (Vladimir) Putin's illegal invasion," the spokesperson said, according to PA news agency. The UK has been a significant backer of Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, providing approximately £25 billion in support, including £16 billion in military aid.
