Russian civilian killed, nine injured in Ukrainian drone strike on Oryol apartment building

A civilian died and nine others were injured after a Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in the Russian city of Oryol, local governor Andrei Klichkov reported. The attack occurred early on June 14, 2026. Klichkov announced the casualties on the Russian messaging platform MAX, stating, "This night, as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack on a residential building in the city of Oryol, there were victims. Unfortunately, one man died, and nine others are receiving medical and psychological attention."

Independent Russian Telegram channels, Astra and 'Ostorozhno, Nóvosti,' had previously reported that a drone impacted a residential building, forcing the evacuation of some residents. Klichkov initially described the night as "restless" for the region's inhabitants before confirming the victims.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated it had downed 259 drones across 14 Russian regions and the annexed Crimean peninsula, as well as over the Sea of Azov. The ministry did not immediately provide details on specific incidents like the one in Oryol.
