Russian Drone Attacks Kill One in Kharkiv, Injure Several Across Ukraine

Russian drone attacks struck Ukraine in broad daylight on Thursday, claiming one life in Kharkiv and injuring several people in different regions, while also damaging infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities and local companies reported the incidents, noting an increasing frequency of daytime assaults as both nations escalate long-range strikes on energy facilities, warehouses, and port infrastructure.

In Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, a man was killed and several others injured when an enemy drone hit a shopping center. Regional Governor Oleg Sinegubov shared images on Telegram showing the interior of the damaged department store, with parts of its roof and walls destroyed. The regional prosecutor's office confirmed the casualties. Throughout the day, reports emerged of three injuries in Kherson and three in Odesa, both southern cities, following attacks on a municipal bus and other targets.

A journalist observed numerous people sheltering in the Vidubichi metro station, as subway services across the river were suspended during the alerts. The mayor's office reported four injuries in the city, with two individuals hospitalized. A drone reportedly fell onto a highway, and a large confectionery company near the capital reported its storage and distribution site had been attacked.

The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia had also launched a combined drone and missile attack overnight Wednesday against various regions. These ongoing attacks highlight the intensifying conflict and the deliberate targeting of infrastructure by both sides, with daytime strikes becoming a more prominent feature of the warfare.
