Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine kills one, injures six in Kryvyi Rih; fires in Kyiv

Russia conducted a coordinated missile and drone attack across several regions of Ukraine during the night from Friday to Saturday. The assault resulted in casualties and significant damage, particularly in the city of Kryvyi Rih and the capital, Kyiv.

In Kryvyi Rih, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces targeted industrial facilities, causing fires. Regional authorities reported that the initial casualty count of one injured person was later updated to one dead and six wounded. Oleksandr Ganza, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, confirmed the strikes on industrial objectives.

Kyiv also experienced explosions after 2:47 AM local time. Falling debris from the attack ignited fires in two non-residential buildings in the Obolonski district and several cars. Another fire was reported in a non-residential area of the Holosiivski district. The Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed one person was injured in the capital. Emergency crews were dispatched to extinguish fires and assess the damage in the affected areas.
