Russians attack passenger train bound for Kherson with Shahed drones, injuring two

Two people were injured when Russian forces attacked a passenger train bound for Kherson with several Shahed-type drones at midday on Saturday, according to Ukrainian officials and regional police.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, said the strikes damaged two diesel locomotives. He initially reported that a 55-year-old woman who works for the railway had been injured and taken to hospital in moderately serious condition.

The woman suffered shrapnel wounds to her arm, concussion, a blast injury and a closed head injury, according to the regional administration. It later reported that an 18-year-old girl had also sought medical attention after the attack. Doctors diagnosed a leg injury and prescribed outpatient care after treatment.

Police said the attack took place in Chornobaivka and described it as another strike on civilian infrastructure and civilians in Kherson Oblast. Twenty-one passengers and the train crew were evacuated from the scene. The regional police said the drones were Shahed-type attack drones directed at the passenger train.
