Sahmyook University Selected for Korea-Japan Student Program for Third Consecutive Year

Sahmyook University is proud to announce its third consecutive selection for the prestigious 'Korea-Japan University Student Training Program,' a testament to our commitment to fostering global competencies among our students. This program, organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation, offers an unparalleled opportunity for Korean students to immerse themselves in Japanese language and culture, gain practical work experience through internships, and build invaluable international networks.

This year, six Sahmyook University students will embark on a 16-week journey to Tokyo. Prior to their departure, they will receive comprehensive pre-departure training, covering everything from language and cultural nuances to safety and security. The program itself is meticulously designed, with the first eight weeks dedicated to intensive language study and cultural adaptation in Tokyo, followed by eight weeks of hands-on internships in diverse sectors such as IT, engineering, and media.

What sets Sahmyook University apart is our dedication to ensuring equitable access to this enriching experience. We are prioritizing students from economically and socially vulnerable backgrounds, ensuring that half of the selected participants come from these groups. Furthermore, the university is providing substantial financial support, including an additional 1.8 million won internship scholarship per student, to alleviate the financial burden and allow them to focus on their development. This initiative underscores our belief that talent and potential should not be limited by financial circumstances.
