Salah heads Egypt World Cup squad, teen talent Abdel Karim earns call-Up

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's star winger, will lead Egypt's national football team in the upcoming World Cup, coach Hossam Hassan announced Saturday. The squad features few surprises, with the notable inclusion of 18-year-old striker Hamza Abdel Karim, who is on loan from Al Ahly to Barcelona Atletic.

Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, who scored eight goals in 36 appearances this season, is expected to spearhead Egypt's attack. The team's World Cup journey begins on June 15 in Seattle against Belgium, as part of Group G alongside New Zealand and Iran. Egypt will play their final friendly match against Brazil on June 6 in Ohio.

The full squad includes goalkeepers Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, El-Mahdi Soliman, and Mohamed Alaa. Defenders are Mohamed Abdelmonem, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Ahmed Fattouh, Tarek Alaa, Rami Rabia, and Hamdi Fathi. Midfielders named are Mohamed Salah, Marwan Attia, Ahmed Mostafa “Zizo”, Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”, Emam Ashour, Mostafa Abdel Raouf, Mohannad Lasheen, Haitham Hassan, Mahmoud Saber, Ibrahim Adel, and Nabil Emad.
