San Sebastián Film Festival's Co-Production Forum to Feature Films from 9 Countries

The San Sebastián Film Festival is set to host its 15th Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum, showcasing projects from fifteen directors across nine nations. This event, a key platform for filmmakers, aims to connect these productions with potential partners to secure crucial financing and enhance their reach into international markets.

Argentina, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Italy, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic are represented by the selected films. The forum's 15th anniversary is marked by a significant increase in its top prize, boosting the award for the best project to 30,000 euros.

Among the notable projects are "Te vienen a quitar tus congos" by Nelson Carlo de los Santos Arias of the Dominican Republic, who previously won a Silver Bear for best director in Berlin for "Pepe." Also featured is "Buscando a Sam" by Venezuela's Mariana Rondón, whose film "Pelo malo" won the Golden Shell for best film in 2013.

Other highlighted films include "Mamá ceniza" by Chile's Tana Gilbert, "O estranho menino/Nature Boy" by Brazil's Matias Mariani, the Spanish-Uruguayan co-production "Cara sucia" by Ignacio Acconcia, and "El último sonidero" by Mexico's Selma Cervantes. The lineup also includes "El último crucero/ The Last Cruise" from the UK's Rachel Daisy Ellis, and "Isabel Hernández" by Italy's Giorgio Giampà.

Projects from directors with previous San Sebastián festival experience, such as Argentina's Santiago Loza, Christopher Murray from Chile, and Argentina's Celina Murga, will also be presented. The forum continues its tradition of fostering international collaboration and supporting diverse cinematic voices.
