Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reunite as the Owens sisters in Practical Magic 2

Nearly three decades after Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman first played the Owens sisters, Practical Magic 2 is coming to cinemas on Sept. 9.

Bullock returns as Sally and Kidman as Gillian in a new story about family, sisterhood, secrets, and magic passed down through generations. The sequel reunites the Owens family from the 1998 cult film while extending the story to a younger generation.

Sally is now the mother of two daughters, Kylie and Antonia. She has not told them the truth about their origins or magical abilities because she believes she is protecting them. Gillian, however, believes the time has come for the girls to discover who they really are.

Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return as Aunt Franny and Aunt Jet. Joey King and Maisie Williams play members of the new generation of the Owens family. Danish director Susanne Bier, known for The Night Manager and Bird Box, directs the film.

Bullock said the film explores how a family faces loss and difficult moments. "Magic is a beautiful and cheerful word, but there is also magic in the way we get through hardships, losses and everything life brings us. This family has lived through fears and darkness for centuries, but what matters is that they go through everything together," she said.

The film will be distributed by BLITZ. Special opening events are planned at the TRES CHIC screening at Concept Cinema by CineStar in Belgrade’s Ada Mall, as well as Cine Lady screenings at CineStar cinemas in Novi Sad, Pančevo, and Zrenjanin.
