Sangji University Celebrates 71st Anniversary, Honors Staff and Alumni

Sangji University marked its 71st anniversary on June 10th with a ceremony held at the main building's auditorium. The event brought together key figures including the chairman of the Sangji Educational Foundation, the president of the alumni association, and the provincial vice governor, alongside faculty and students.

71 years is not a short time, but in terms of university history, Sangji University is still in its youth with great potential for growth. It will become a more developed and growing university when students, faculty, alumni, and the local community work together.

The celebration recognized the dedication of its staff and alumni. Long-service awards were presented to faculty and employees who have committed 15 to 35 years to the university's development and student cultivation. Outstanding faculty and staff also received commendations, with awards for teaching and research excellence.

A significant moment was the alumni association's donation of 30 million won to support the university's development and educational environment. The association also expressed gratitude to alumni who contributed to the "Naming Sheet" fundraising project. Additionally, newly elected alumni to local government positions were honored with congratulatory bouquets.

University leadership shared their vision for the future. Foundation Chairman Park Geo-yong described Sangji as being in its "youthful phase" with great potential for growth, stressing the importance of collective effort. Vice Governor Yeo Jung-hyup highlighted Sangji's role as a leading private institution in Gangwon Province, nurturing talent and contributing to regional development. Acting President Park Gwi-gan pledged to build a university that grows with the region and makes students proud of their choice.
