Santa Fe Klan claims police shot at friends in Guanajuato; prosecutors seal off neighborhood

Rapper Santa Fe Klan has accused Guanajuato police of firing shots at his friends and acquaintances who were gathered outside one of his establishments in Santa Fe, Guanajuato. The incident prompted the state's General Prosecutor's Office to cordon off the neighborhood to conduct an investigation.

In social media posts on Sunday night, Ángel Quezada, known as Santa Fe Klan, alleged that police officers discharged firearms at a group of people who were singing and socializing near his store. "The police in Guanajuato shot at my brothers, at my store in Santa Fe for singing songs outside the store," he stated.

Santa Fe Klan was not present during the alleged attack, as he was in Hermosillo, Sonora, for work commitments. However, he stated that he witnessed the events unfold through security cameras installed at his business. "They want to enter my house, I have them recorded," he added.

The musician expressed anger, claiming that officers in his native Santa Fe neighborhood abuse their authority. He suggested this was not the first instance of intimidation against the community. Local media reported on Monday that the Guanajuato General Prosecutor's Office dispatched personnel to the area where the events occurred to begin their investigation. Neighbors confirmed hearing gunshots the previous night, with authorities arriving around 8:00 AM.
