Sanwo-Olu appointed South-West Coordinator of Tinubu’s re-election campaign

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been appointed the South-West Zonal Campaign Coordinator for President Bola Tinubu's upcoming re-election campaign. The announcement came Saturday as part of the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. President Tinubu himself will chair the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima serving as Vice-Chairman. Former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari is appointed Director-General, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will be the Secretary. Sanwo-Olu, who also chairs the South-West Governors' Forum, is tasked with coordinating the party's campaign efforts in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states. His role involves working with APC leaders at all levels to rally support for Tinubu's re-election and bolster the party's presence in the geopolitical zone. Sanwo-Olu has a track record of leading successful campaign councils, having chaired the APC Governorship Campaign Councils in Ondo State for both the 2020 and 2024 elections, which resulted in victories. As coordinator, he is expected to engage with diverse stakeholders, including political figures, labor unions, students, artisans, and business communities across the South-West. A key aspect of his assignment will be to communicate the achievements of the Tinubu administration and mobilize citizens and party supporters towards securing an APC victory in the region.
