Sanwo-Olu Celebrates GAC Member Alebiosu at 90

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has extended warm felicitations to Otunba Busura Alebiosu, a distinguished elder statesman and a valued member of the Governance Advisory Council, as he marks his 90th birthday.

On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, family, the government and the people of Lagos State, as well as leaders and members of our dear party, All Progressives Congress, I celebrate our elder statesman and member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Otunba Busura Alebiosu, on his 90th birthday.

In a statement released by his media aide, Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu lauded Otunba Alebiosu as a "stabiliser and leader of leaders," acknowledging his profound impact on the political and governance spheres of Lagos State. The Governor specifically commended the nonagenarian for his enduring commitment to public service and his influential role in shaping the state's political trajectory since the dawn of the Fourth Republic.

Baba Alebiosu has kept faith with the political process since the time when he was elected as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly… He has been an active participant in Lagos politics from the Sir Michael Otedola era through the aborted Third Republic to the current Fourth Republic.

Reflecting on Otunba Alebiosu's extensive political journey, which includes his tenure as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and his consistent participation in state politics across various democratic dispensations, Governor Sanwo-Olu described him as "one of our leading lights." He emphasized Alebiosu's rare blend of calmness, respectability, and humility, coupled with a wealth of experience and knowledge, which he believes are exemplary leadership qualities.

He is one of our leading lights. I see Baba Bush as a stabiliser—a man with tremendous experience and a wealth of knowledge. More importantly, he is calm, respectable, yet humble. I see qualities of leadership in him that are rare among political leaders.

The Governor's message also included prayers for Otunba Alebiosu's continued good health, sound mind, and clarity of thought, wishing him the ability to keep leading with wisdom and integrity.
