Satirical host Pečeliūnas to join singing show 'Žvaigždžių duetai' with Gabija Sine

Justas Pečeliūnas, known for his sharp wit and satirical commentary on the show "Savaitėje su Pečeliūnu," is set to trade his hosting duties for a spot on the singing competition "Žvaigždžių duetai." His partner in this new venture is singer Gabija Sine, a familiar face from their previous collaboration on "Didysis chorų mūšis." Pečeliūnas led the Panevėžys team, while Sine directed the choir, and now they will perform as a duo on the "Žvaigždžių duetai" stage.

Pečeliūnas's current role involves analyzing the week's most talked-about events in politics, society, and entertainment with his signature irony and humor. He emphasizes that the show's goal extends beyond mere laughter. "We really want to be able to look at everything with a smile, even when absurd situations occur in our country in politics or just in everyday life," Pečeliūnas stated. "Then there will be less anger in life, and the daily mood will be better."

Despite the show's preparation throughout the week, last-minute changes can occur. Pečeliūnas noted that sometimes a week seems too quiet to discuss, but as filming approaches, news often accelerates. He recalled the incident involving Prime Minister Skvernelis's "howling" happening just before a show taping. He has also faced requests for personalized horoscopes for specific individuals.

Pečeliūnas highlighted his parody of the First Lady Diana Nausėdienė's speech as his most successful prank. "I never try to think that 'I can't come up with anything better,' but today it's probably hard to imagine creating something similar to Nausėdienė's speech parody. That video was filmed and edited so enjoyably, and that rarely happens," he said. Looking ahead, Pečeliūnas expressed interest in inviting show subjects onto the program to elaborate on situations, particularly Dainą Bosas, whom he believes would offer opinions without hesitation.
