Saudi and German ministers discuss expanding economic and energy partnership

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche in Berlin on Monday as both sides explored ways to broaden their partnership.

The ministers reviewed bilateral relations, with particular attention to economic ties. They discussed opportunities to increase trade and investment by drawing on the potential of both countries and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Energy featured prominently in the talks. Saudi Arabia and Germany emphasized developing partnerships linked to energy security and sustainability, while also working to strengthen supply-chain resilience.

The ministers also highlighted the need to safeguard waterways and preserve freedom of navigation for commercial vessels. They said such efforts would support their shared interests and wider economic cooperation.
