Ministry: Failing to inform job applicants of interview results is a violation

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has warned that employers commit a regulatory violation when they fail to tell job applicants the outcome of a job interview.

The ministry urged affected applicants to report establishments that do not comply through its official application. Human resources regulations require employers to notify candidates whether they have been accepted or rejected within 30 days of the interview.

The ministry said failure to provide that notification, or breaches involving the advertising of vacancies and the conduct of interviews, constitute clear violations of the rules and warrant an official complaint from the affected applicant.

It said it is developing an integrated framework of regulations and decisions to improve the labor market. The rules governing vacancy announcements and job interviews aim to raise service quality for jobseekers by standardizing procedures in the private sector.
