Saudi Arabia highlights AI, global cooperation in geospatial information management at UN meeting

At the 16th UN Committee of Experts meeting on Global Geospatial Information Management in New York, the Kingdom's delegation, led by GEOSA President Mohammed Al-Sayel, stressed the importance of leveraging modern technologies. Al-Sayel highlighted the need for a robust global system to support sustainable development goals. The focus is on strengthening international cooperation and utilizing AI to enhance the management of geospatial data. Saudi Arabia also shared its progress in implementing the UN Integrated Geospatial Information Framework. Key areas of discussion included the integration of geospatial and statistical information, alongside advancements in land and marine management. The Kingdom's active participation underscores its commitment to advancing geospatial information management on a global scale.
