Saudi Arabia, Pakistan Sign MoU to Strengthen Cybersecurity Cooperation

At LEAP 2026, Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry is presenting technology as an interconnected security and services system rather than a collection of standalone tools.

The ministry’s six systems cover field security and safety, rapid response, road safety, security cameras, digital services and institutional services. Together, they include 36 services and projects: seven for field security and safety, eight for rapid response, three for road safety, seven for security cameras, nine for digital services and two for institutional services.

The ministry says these technologies improve readiness, speed up intervention, expand monitoring, simplify user interactions and support institutional decision-making. Its display includes artificial intelligence, data systems and digital solutions designed to connect activity in the field with command centers, roads, communities and administrative operations.

Thamer Alharbi, the Interior Ministry’s assistant minister for technology affairs, said the ministry was using modern technologies and artificial intelligence to provide security, humanitarian services and public safety. He said its mission remained focused on protecting people, building trust and giving service providers stronger digital capabilities.

Alharbi highlighted the Nafath national digital identity platform, developed with the National Information Center. He said it serves more than 32 million beneficiaries across 1,245 linked platforms and has facilitated more than 6.5 billion transactions. He also cited the Maidan Companion field-support system and Absher Open Services, which enables controlled integration among multiple entities.
