Saudi Arabia receives conjoined Fijian twins for possible separation surgery

Two conjoined twins from Fiji, Jesibel and Desisia, have arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a comprehensive medical evaluation to determine the possibility of separation surgery. This humanitarian initiative is being undertaken following directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

The twins and their family were welcomed at King Khalid International Airport and subsequently transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital. Here, a dedicated medical team, specializing in such complex cases, will conduct a thorough assessment of their condition.

Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, supervisor general of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and head of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, expressed gratitude for the leadership's decision. He highlighted the gesture as a testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to providing medical aid globally, irrespective of a patient's nationality or origin. The program has a history of successfully performing such intricate surgeries, offering hope to families facing similar challenges.
