Saudi Arabia to Host 39th Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference This Week

Saudi Arabia is set to host the 39th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) this Thursday. The event will be conducted via videoconference under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The conference is being organized by the Shura Council in collaboration with AIPU. It will bring together key figures from across the Arab world, including speakers of Arab parliaments and legislative councils, alongside delegates from various organizations. This gathering aims to foster dialogue and coordination on issues pertinent to the region.

Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, expressed gratitude for the King's patronage, highlighting it as a reflection of Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing Arab cooperation. He noted that this support underscores the dedication of both King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to strengthening joint Arab efforts and promoting regional security and stability.

Al Al-Sheikh emphasized that collective Arab action is crucial for addressing contemporary challenges and unifying positions. He stated that such efforts are vital for bolstering stability, safeguarding shared Arab interests, and advancing the role of parliaments in development initiatives. The Shura Council anticipates the conference outcomes will bolster joint parliamentary action and reinforce parliamentary diplomacy as a key tool for promoting Arab causes globally.
