Saudi Arabia Welcomes US Announcement on Gaza Disarmament Deal

Saudi Arabia has officially welcomed the announcement of a historic disarmament agreement in the Gaza Strip, as declared by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Kingdom's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation for Trump's leadership and unwavering commitment, recognizing their pivotal role in achieving this significant milestone. The statement highlighted the efforts of various international partners, including Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States, acknowledging their continuous contributions to this accomplishment.

The ministry reiterated Saudi Arabia's full commitment to implementing the comprehensive peace plan, which has been endorsed by the United Nations Security Council in Resolution No. 2803. This commitment is to be pursued in coordination with regional and international partners, with an emphasis on the timely, reliable, and irreversible execution of all agreed-upon phases. The Kingdom underscored the critical importance of a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the deployment of an international stabilization force, and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid and reconstruction support to the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia emphasized that the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza and the preservation of the occupied Palestinian territory's unity are fundamental to the successful implementation of the peace plan and the achievement of sustainable stability and peace. The Kingdom stressed that this agreement should serve as a catalyst for a broader political process that guarantees the Palestinian people's inalienable rights, including self-determination and the establishment of an independent state. This, it stated, would pave the way for peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel based on mutual recognition, ultimately leading to a just and lasting peace for all peoples in the region.
