Saudi Civil Defense Warns Public to Seek Immediate Shelter During Emergencies

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has issued a strong warning, urging the public to remain calm and strictly adhere to official instructions when receiving alerts from the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies. Authorities emphasized the importance of immediate action to ensure safety during critical events.

Residents are advised to promptly move to the nearest safe location within a building, preferably an interior room shielded from windows. They should remain sheltered until the danger has completely passed. The Civil Defense stressed the need to stay away from open areas, balconies, rooftops, windows, and glass structures. Individuals caught outdoors are instructed to enter the nearest building or find protection behind a solid barrier.

Motorists receiving warning messages while driving must safely pull over, ensuring they are away from bridges and high-rise buildings. The public is also cautioned against gathering in crowds, visiting hazardous areas, and documenting emergency situations. Updates should only be followed through official channels. For immediate danger reporting, citizens and residents can call 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 998 in other regions of the Kingdom.
