Savannah Guthrie pleads with mother's kidnappers to 'help us find her'

Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC's "Today" show, has issued a new public plea nearly six months after her mother's disappearance, begging her kidnappers to reveal her location. Nancy Guthrie, 84, vanished from her home near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1.

In a video released Monday, Guthrie expressed her family's unending search for her mother. "The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way," she said, addressing the abductors. "So I'm asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing."

Authorities suspect Nancy Guthrie was abducted. Evidence includes blood discovered near her front door and surveillance footage showing a masked individual on the property on the night of her disappearance. Search teams have scoured the surrounding desert, and a volunteer group recently searched near the Arizona-Mexico border.

While authorities have not disclosed the number of ransom demands received, three news organizations reported obtaining such notes and submitting them to investigators. The FBI has deemed some notes as mere extortion attempts but continues to assess others for legitimacy. The Guthrie family previously offered a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's recovery and acknowledged the possibility that she might not be alive, though hope remains.
