Sayyid Badr meets Indian counterpart, discusses maritime navigation

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi met his Indian counterpart, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in Manila. The discussion, held on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting marking the 50th anniversary of the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, focused on maritime security and regional stability.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to restoring the smooth flow of maritime navigation and supply chains, particularly through the critical Strait of Hormuz. This shared goal underscores the importance of international cooperation in maintaining global trade routes.

Furthermore, they emphasized the necessity of de-escalation and reducing regional tensions. Both nations stressed that outstanding issues should be addressed through dialogue, peaceful means, and consensual solutions among all parties involved. The meeting was attended by Oman's Ambassador to the Philippines, Eng. Nasser Almanwari, and other officials from both countries.
