Scaffolding collapses at Kütahya construction site; 4 workers injured

Four construction workers were injured, two critically, when scaffolding collapsed at a construction site in Kütahya, Turkey. The incident occurred around 4 PM in the Bölücek neighborhood when a winch overturned, leading to the collapse of the scaffolding where the workers were present.

The workers fell approximately 6 meters onto the concrete ground. Emergency services, including health, fire, and police teams, were dispatched to the scene. Initial medical interventions were provided to the injured.

The injured workers have been identified as Mustafa Olgun, 46; Abdullah Kaya, 60; Hamit Sarı, 71; and Süleyman Türkoğlu, 58. They were transported to Kütahya City Hospital and Evliya Çelebi Training and Research Hospital for treatment. Reports indicate that Hamit Sarı and Süleyman Türkoğlu are in serious condition.

An investigation into the cause of the scaffolding collapse has been initiated.
