Scandals continue: Raudondvaris Manor buys from its deputy director's company

Raudondvaris Manor, already known for controversy over the employment of Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius's wife, is facing another potential scandal. The deputy director of the manor's temporary head owns a company that has secured dozens of the institution's public purchases.

Conservative lawmaker Mindaugas Lingė brought the matter to public attention in a Facebook post. He said Egidijus Morkūnas, who has served as deputy director for administration at Raudondvaris Manor since 2009, is the father of temporary director Kotryna Inga Morkūnaitė.

Registry Centre data show that Morkūnas has been the sole shareholder of the company Dvyniai ir Ko since it was founded in 2019. He managed the company from spring 2019 until 2021 and also listed his ownership in a declaration submitted to Lithuania's Chief Official Ethics Commission. The declaration says that, since April 2025, he has also acted as the manor's procurement initiator.

According to figures presented by Lingė, Raudondvaris Manor signed 29 public procurement contracts with Morkūnas's company between 2022 and 2026. Their combined value exceeded 71,000 euros, and Lingė said all were non-competitive purchases.

The public procurement portal shows the company supplied furniture, including tables and chairs, and rented chairs and tents. The portal lists the items and final contract prices, generally ranging from about 1,000 to 4,500 euros, but does not publish the contracts themselves, making it impossible to check the prices in detail. The latest contract was signed in February. Dvyniai ir Ko has participated only in Raudondvaris Manor procurements.

When contacted, Morkūnas ended the call after saying, "No comment, thank you." The manor director could not be reached by mobile phone. Written questions were sent to Morkūnaitė, and the report said it would be updated if she responds.
