Schjelderup and Benfica Thrash Casa Pia 7-0

Benfica bounced back from a slow start to the league season with a resounding 7-0 victory over Casa Pia. The dominant performance saw Benfica score five goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half, overwhelming their opponents.

Striker Vangelis Pavlidis was the star of the match, netting a rapid hat-trick just after halftime. He was substituted out with about half an hour remaining, making way for Jhon Duran, a former Premier League player, who also found the net three minutes after entering the game.

Andreas Schjelderup, a Norwegian player, was brought on in the 60th minute with Benfica already leading 6-0. While he did not contribute directly to the scoring, his appearance was part of Benfica's continued offensive pressure. Other goals came from Gianluca Prestianni, Rafa Silva, and an own goal by Casa Pia's Lawrence Ofori. Casa Pia also had a player, Khaly, sent off late in the match after receiving two yellow cards.

This emphatic win follows a disappointing 2-2 draw in Benfica's season opener against newly promoted Academico Viseu. The team now prepares to face Danish side AGF in the Europa League playoffs.
