Schools in Kyrgyzstan to receive programming textbook in Kyrgyz language

Schools across Kyrgyzstan will soon receive copies of "Baldar Uchun JavaScript" (JavaScript for Children), a new textbook translated into the Kyrgyz language. The Ministry of Education has accepted 4,500 copies of the book, published by the Public Foundation Taalim-Forum.

The initiative aims to broaden access for schoolchildren to modern educational materials in Kyrgyz. By introducing the fundamentals of JavaScript in a simple and engaging format, the textbook seeks to foster digital literacy and cultivate an interest in information technologies among students. It is designed to enhance logical thinking and creativity.

This publication was made possible with support from the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic. The first edition of the book, released in 2023 with a print run of 3,500 copies, was distributed to libraries nationwide. The second edition, now handed over to the Ministry of Education, will be distributed free of charge to schools throughout the country for integration into the educational curriculum.
