Scottie Scheffler Wins Tour Championship and Surpasses Tiger Woods on Career Prize Money

Scottie Scheffler claimed a second season-long FedEx Cup title and moved past Tiger Woods as the PGA Tour’s leading career prize-money earner with a three-shot victory at the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Scheffler closed with a four-under-par 66 to finish at 16 under. The win earned him $10 million and lifted his on-course career earnings to $130,390,661, above Woods’ $120,999,166. He joined Rory McIlroy and Woods as only the third player to win the season-ending event multiple times.

Viktor Hovland, the 2023 champion, finished runner-up after a final-round 72. Ryan Gerard was third at 12 under. Min Woo Lee shot a closing 68 to finish at 11 under, one shot ahead of Adam Scott, in a seven-way tie for fourth on his tournament debut.

Scott, 46, had sought to become the oldest FedEx Cup champion. He stayed near the lead for much of the afternoon and briefly moved within two shots, but missed birdie opportunities before bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes ended his challenge. He finished with a 72 at 10 under and collected $660,000.

The result moved Scott to seventh on the PGA Tour’s all-time prize-money list with $74,880,596, placing him above Justin Thomas. Scheffler, Woods, McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson remain ahead of him.
