Search continues for two men missing after swimming accident

A search operation is underway for two men who went missing after a swimming accident in Lake Constance, near Kirchberg, Germany. The two individuals, aged 71 and 76, disappeared on Thursday after jumping into the water from a rented boat.

According to police reports, the men were on the boat with their wives when they decided to jump into the lake. The incident occurred approximately 200 meters offshore, near the harbor. Despite immediate efforts, the search on Thursday proved unsuccessful in locating the missing men.

Authorities have mobilized a significant rescue operation. Teams from the water police, fire department, and the German Life Saving Association (DLRG) are involved. The search also includes divers, sonar equipment, tracker dogs, and aerial support from a rescue helicopter and a police helicopter.

The search efforts are scheduled to resume on Friday, as authorities continue their attempts to find the missing individuals. The police have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the men jumping into the water.
