Search Resumes in Argentina for Missing Paraguayan National

Search operations have intensified in Misiones, Argentina, as family members, Argentine gendarmes, and local residents re-entered the dense forest where Paraguayan national Óscar González Caballero, 57, was last seen. González has been missing since Tuesday, and the renewed search efforts aim to uncover any clues to his whereabouts.

Melba González, Óscar's daughter, reported that her siblings, accompanied by law enforcement and community members, resumed their tracking activities early Saturday. The strategy involves progressively narrowing the search radius to concentrate efforts on sectors where new leads might be found. There are unconfirmed reports that González's brothers ventured deeper into the woods after discovering potential markings left by their father.

González disappeared after entering a wooded area in Misiones to recover a weather balloon associated with an academic and technical project. The GPS tracker for the equipment indicated a drop zone in a rural sector near Kilometer 22 in Colonia Mado. However, all contact was lost after he entered the thick forest.

His daughter filed a formal report on August 3rd after he traveled from Caaguazú, Paraguay, to Argentina. After crossing the Tancredo Neves border crossing, González faced difficulties with terrain and transportation, forcing him to stay overnight at a local resident's home in Kilometer 18, Eldorado, an area known as "Las Delicias." His last communication with his family was early Tuesday morning, August 4th, between 6 and 7 a.m., when he confirmed he was preparing to walk from Kilometer 18.
