Second night of Nis Film Festival brings stars to the red carpet

The second night of the Nis Film Festival drew a large group of prominent actors, with the evening program filling the amphitheater on the riverside. Andrija Kuzmanovic, Tihomir Stanic, Milena Predic, Hana Selimovic and Jana Milosavljevic were among the stars greeting audiences on the red carpet.

Before the screenings, Petar Bencina, president of the Actors’ Association, marked Nebojsa Glogovac’s birthday with a tribute to the late actor. “Thank you for everything he did for the acting profession, for the strength of his personality, for the gift with which he blessed us, and for a body of work that remains powerful, present and timeless,” Bencina said. The audience responded with prolonged applause.

The evening continued with Vladimir Tagic’s “Yugo Florida,” a film already recognized with awards. It follows Zoran after a series of events turns his life upside down, particularly when his father learns that he has an incurable illness. Zoran decides to help him and remain by his side during his final weeks.

The festival also hosted the world premiere of “Indeks,” directed by Milos Zivanovic. The film focuses on the major protests in Serbia that followed the collapse of a railway station canopy in Novi Sad, portraying a tense relationship between a student involved in the protests and his father, a police officer. Earlier screenings included films by Zelimir Zilnik and Nikola Lezaic.
