Security Council receives first tactical vehicles for Gaza

The Security Council has announced the arrival of the first contingent of tactical vehicles at a logistics support base near the Gaza Strip, as preparations continue for the deployment of the International Security Force (ISF) in the region. The council stated on the X platform that the vehicles arrived at the Endurance Logistics Support Area, without providing further details on the number of assets delivered.

According to i24news correspondent Ariel Oseran, reporting on X, the tactical vehicles arrived at a base near Kerem Shalom in southern Gaza, which is designated for the ISF. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem expressed hope that this development would initiate the force's responsibilities, including separating Gaza's Palestinian population from Israel and halting violations by the regime's forces. He urged the Security Council to promptly implement the peace plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.

Qassem emphasized that the plan should include establishing a national committee to govern the area, deliver genuine aid, compel Israel's withdrawal, and launch reconstruction efforts, asserting that reconstruction is a fundamental right for all Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Simultaneously, a Hamas delegation reportedly arrived in Cairo for discussions with Egyptian officials and mediators regarding the implementation of a Gaza ceasefire agreement.

The Security Council was established in January at the initiative of US President Donald Trump as part of broader efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution in Gaza. Its first meeting concerning Gaza took place on February 19 at the US Institute of Peace in Washington, under Trump's leadership.
