Security official martyred, six injured in Mastung roadside bomb attack

A security official lost their life and six others sustained injuries in a roadside bomb explosion that rocked the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district on Saturday. Police reported that the blast occurred along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway as security vehicles traversed the area.

Officials confirmed that an explosive device, planted in the Gro area, detonated when the convoy passed, striking one of the vehicles. A senior police officer verified the casualties, noting that other vehicles in the convoy remained unharmed. Following the explosion, a significant exchange of gunfire ensued for a period.

According to police officials, the perpetrators fled the scene shortly after additional security personnel arrived. The injured and the deceased were promptly transported to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital. The highway remained closed for traffic after the blast, and a search operation was initiated to apprehend those responsible.

This incident follows a similar explosion in the same region just one day prior, which resulted in the deaths of four laborers working in an apple orchard and injured three others. Hospital officials examining the victims noted the presence of splinter marks on their bodies, consistent with an explosive device.
