Security operatives arrest kidnappers in Plateau, recover N8m ransom

In Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, a decisive operation by our joint security forces has brought a measure of peace and justice. The successful arrest of two notorious kidnappers, Waltu Watter and Sale Mamma, is a testament to the bravery and professionalism of our security operatives. These individuals are accused of the heinous crime of killing Alhaji Saidu Mamma and abducting his daughter, demanding a hefty ransom of N8 million.

Our commitment to eradicating criminality in Qua’an Pan is unwavering. The swift apprehension of these suspects and the recovery of the full ransom amount, which will be returned to the victim's family, sends a clear message: this local government will not be a haven for criminals. We commend the diligence and gallantry of the security agencies involved in this coordinated operation.

We will not allow criminals to operate in Qua’an Pan or use this local government as a hiding place after committing crimes in neighbouring councils or states.

This success is not an isolated incident. In a related operation, our forces also rescued Mrs. Gambo Bello, who had been kidnapped in Nasarawa State and held in the Pandam Game Reserve. Her harrowing account of spending over a week in captivity, followed by a tense exchange of gunfire before her rescue, underscores the dangers our security personnel face daily.
