Sekulić emerges as top candidate for Barcelona coaching job

FC Barcelona is in a rebuilding phase following a disappointing season and is actively searching for a new head coach. According to recent reports, the Spanish basketball club has identified Aleksandar Sekulić as a leading candidate for the position.

Sekulić has significantly boosted his profile in recent seasons. He took over as head coach of Dubai BC late in the season and guided them to their historic first ABA League championship, defeating Partizan 3-1 in the finals. This achievement marked a major milestone for the club.

Furthermore, Sekulić has been coaching the Slovenian national team since 2020, leading them to a fourth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics. Earlier in his career, as part of the coaching staff, he contributed to Slovenia's EuroBasket 2017 victory, playing a role in the development of the "golden generation" of Slovenian basketball, notably featuring Luka Dončić.

Sekulić's name is now reportedly at the top of Barcelona's list as the club aims to finalize its coaching decision swiftly to begin planning for the upcoming season.
