Semarang Cooperative Achieves Rp60 Million Monthly Turnover, LPDB Encourages Business Strengthening

The Koperasi Kelurahan Merah Putih (KKMP) Sampangan in Semarang has achieved a significant milestone, recording a monthly turnover of around Rp60 million despite being operational for less than a month. The cooperative, officially inaugurated on May 16, 2026, has already garnered 250 members, demonstrating rapid growth and community engagement.

This impressive performance caught the attention of Krisdianto, the Director General of LPDB Koperasi, during his visit to KKMP Sampangan and KUD Usaha Mina in Semarang. Krisdianto highlighted KKMP Sampangan's development as evidence of the potential for cooperatives to become central hubs of community economic activity when managed professionally and supported by robust business partnerships. "KKMP Sampangan is an example of how cooperatives can grow quickly when they receive community support and build strong business partnerships. This aligns with the government's spirit of making cooperatives an instrument for driving the people's economy," Krisdianto stated in a press release on Friday (June 19, 2026).

The cooperative's success is partly attributed to its strategic collaborations. KKMP Sampangan has partnered with ID FOOD to secure essential supplies such as cooking oil, eggs, rice, and sugar, alongside other household necessities. Furthermore, it has established a partnership with Pertamina for gas cylinder distribution and has created market access for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) owned by its members. These partnerships are seen as crucial for expanding business opportunities and reinforcing the cooperative's role in bolstering the local economy.

The presence of LPDB Koperasi is to ensure that cooperatives have adequate access to financing so that they are able to increase the scale of business, expand economic benefits for members, and strengthen their competitiveness.

During the same visit, Krisdianto also inspected KUD Usaha Mina, which operates an ice block production unit to support the local fishery sector. The ice blocks are essential for preserving fish catches before they are brought to market. Krisdianto noted that productive businesses based on real sector needs, like that of KUD Usaha Mina, have strong prospects for continued development. Such ventures create added value for cooperative members and the broader fishing community. He emphasized that LPDB Koperasi aims to ensure cooperatives have adequate financing access to scale up their operations, broaden economic benefits for members, and enhance their competitiveness.
