Semi-Trailer Truck Overturns on A38 Highway, Injuring Three

A semi-trailer truck overturned on the A38 highway in Germany, leading to a complete closure of the route towards Göttingen and causing considerable traffic delays.

The incident happened around midday between the Leinefelde-Worbis and Heilbad Heiligenstadt junctions. The truck began to swerve, veered off the right side of the road, and ultimately tipped over, lying across the entire northbound carriageway.

According to police reports, the three individuals inside the truck suffered minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. A rescue helicopter was also deployed to the scene. Traffic is currently being diverted off the highway at the Leinefelde-Worbis exit, resulting in an approximately four-kilometer traffic jam.

Authorities are advising motorists to avoid the area. Salvage operations are anticipated to continue for several more hours. The preliminary estimated property damage from the accident is around 50,000 euros.
