Senate in SP: Derrite and Marina at 12%, Tebet at 11%, André do Prado at 7%, Salles at 5%, points Quaest

Former Public Security Secretary Guilherme Derrite (PP) and ex-Environment Minister Marina Silva (Rede) are currently leading the contest for two Senate seats in São Paulo. A recent poll by Quaest, released on Tuesday, August 25, shows both candidates numerically tied at 12% of total voter intentions.

Simone Tebet (PSB), a former minister, is positioned closely behind with 11% of the vote, placing her in a technical tie with Derrite and Silva within the poll's margin of error. André do Prado, president of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp), has garnered 7% of intentions, also technically tied with Tebet. Federal Deputy Ricardo Salles (Novo) follows with 5% of voter support.

Other candidates, including Geraldo Rufino (Podemos) and Soninha Francine (Cidadania), each have 2%. A smaller percentage, 1%, is held by candidates Maíra de Souza (UP), Dra. Eliana Ferreira (PSTU), Guto Schiavetto (Missão), Marcio Alves (UP), and William Teixeira (Agir). The poll also indicates that 27% of respondents are undecided, while 18% plan to cast blank or null votes, or stated they would not vote. Candidates Weller Gonçalves (PSTU), Petter Maahs (PCB), and Ednelson Cesaretti (PCO) did not register any significant support.

The Quaest survey interviewed 1,800 voters from August 21 to August 24. It has a margin of error of two percentage points and a 95% confidence level. The research was commissioned by Grupo Globo and registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under the number SP-06946/2026. The figures represent total votes, calculated from stimulated responses for both the first and second Senate votes, with the results then divided by two to determine each contender's overall intention percentage.
