Seoul Citizens Oppose Public Housing in Yongsan Park

Seoul citizens overwhelmingly reject the idea of building public housing within Yongsan Park, according to a recent survey. The poll, commissioned by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, found that 63.9% of residents are against the plan, with only 32.0% in favor. A significant 46.7% expressed strong opposition.

The sentiment against the housing development spans all age demographics and five major regions of Seoul, with the southeastern region showing the highest opposition at 70.3%. The primary reason cited by those against the project is the concern that it represents a short-sighted policy, sacrificing future generations' parkland for immediate housing relief. This view was shared by 81.2% of opponents.
