Seoul subway heroes sought after protecting Taiwanese couple from drunk man

Two unidentified men are being sought in Seoul after they intervened to protect a Taiwanese couple in wheelchairs from an aggressive drunk individual on a subway platform.

The incident occurred on the evening of June 19th at Gangnam Station on Seoul's subway line 2. The Taiwanese couple, who use wheelchairs, posted on social media platform Threads seeking to thank the two men who came to their aid.

When we were terrified, thinking we had to get off at the next stop, this time the man in the white shirt and a well-built man in yellow pushed the drunk person about 3 meters away from us, as if creating a shield.

According to the post, the intoxicated individual approached the couple aggressively, shouting and sitting down in front of them. When the couple moved their wheelchairs back, the man continued to approach. A man in a white shirt then used an umbrella to block the drunk individual, shielding the couple. The situation escalated when the intoxicated person followed the couple onto their train, approaching them again. At the next stop, another man, described as well-built and wearing yellow, joined the man in white to push the aggressive individual about 3 meters away, creating a protective barrier.

The couple described the two men as "saviors" and noted that the man in white called the police, leading to the intoxicated individual being removed from the train. The man in white also apologized to the couple, acknowledging their Taiwanese nationality. The couple expressed deep gratitude, stating that the men's actions ensured their safety and left them with a warm memory of Korea. The post has since gone viral, receiving thousands of likes and comments.
