Sepak Takraw National Ranking Tournament inspects venue, warms up for next year's National Games

The second national Sepak Takraw ranking tournament concluded at Jiadong High Agricultural Vocational School in Pingtung County, Taiwan, with intense competition among top players. This event was strategically chosen as a preparatory ground for the upcoming 2025 National Games, which Pingtung County is set to host.

Currently planning the venue for next year's National Games, we are using this ranking tournament to inspect the venue conditions at Jiadong High Agricultural Vocational School. We need to see if this competition venue meets the rules, observe the players' feelings and rhythm during actual matches, and check what needs to be strengthened in the venue equipment.

Notably, Sepak Takraw will be featured as an official competition event for the first time in the history of the National Games next year. This inclusion marks a significant step for the sport in Taiwan. The ranking tournament provided an opportunity to inspect the venue and assess player performance, ensuring readiness for the larger event.

Zheng Liyuan, deputy manager for Sepak Takraw at the 2025 National Games, highlighted the importance of the venue inspection. Having been involved in promoting Sepak Takraw in Pingtung since his time at Jiadong Junior High, he emphasized the need to ensure the Jiadong High Agricultural Vocational School venue meets all regulations and safety standards. The facility's indoor space, air conditioning, and wooden floor are considered ideal for the sport, which involves significant jumping, landing, and physical contact.

The venue conditions and safety are quite important, especially since Sepak Takraw matches involve a lot of jumping, landing, and body contact.

Chen Ruiru, a player returning from the World Sepak Takraw Championship (King's Cup), viewed the ranking tournament as a crucial opportunity to adjust his form. He expressed satisfaction with his current physical condition and skills, looking forward to the challenge of competing in his hometown and aiming for a gold medal in the National Games.
