Serb from Zubin Potok detained at Brnjak, suspected of giving false testimony

Kosovo police detained a Serbian national, identified as D.V. from Zubin Potok, at the Brnjak border crossing. The detention was confirmed by his lawyer, Miloš Delević, who stated that D.V. was held for questioning as a witness in an ongoing investigation into alleged war crimes against civilians.

Two other individuals from Zubin Potok had previously been detained in connection with the same war crimes investigation. During D.V.'s interrogation, the prosecutor determined that he should be prosecuted for giving false testimony. Consequently, he was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours.

During the interrogation, the prosecutor decided to open proceedings against D. V. for giving false testimony and he is now suspected of that crime. Therefore, he was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours.

Delević expressed hope that D.V. would be released to defend himself from freedom after the 48-hour detention period expires. The case highlights the ongoing legal and political tensions in the region, particularly concerning investigations into past conflicts and the testimonies provided in such proceedings.
