Serb List Accuses Kosovo Police of Tying Man to Tree, Forcing War Crimes Confession

The Serb List party has accused Kosovo Police officers of tying a man to a tree and brutally beating him in an attempt to force a confession to war crimes. The allegations stem from the testimony of Nenad Raskovic, a resident of Dren village in the Zubin Potok municipality.

According to the Serb List's account, Raskovic claims that police officers raided his family home, subjected him to an unprovoked beating after a search, and then took him to a nearby forest. There, he alleges, he was tied to a tree and assaulted with a water hose, sustaining multiple injuries, including suspected broken ribs.

Raskovic further alleges that during the assault, the officers demanded he confess to committing war crimes against ethnic Albanians during the conflict. The Serb List provided graphic photographs of Raskovic's injuries to the media.

The party stated that Raskovic was left tied to the tree and was eventually freed by friends. He was transported to a local health center and then to the Kosovska Mitrovica Clinical Hospital Center, where he is currently receiving medical observation. Residents of Dren reportedly confirmed that Raskovic has no prior criminal record.

In response to the allegations, Kosovo Police told N1 news that they have no information regarding reports of officers beating anyone. They indicated that the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo would be notified of the claims.

He was eventually freed with the help of friends and transported to the health center in Zubin Potok, and then to the Kosovska Mitrovica Clinical Hospital Center (KBC), where he is currently under medical observation while the extent of his injuries is determined.
