Serbia braces for new heatwave, temperatures to reach 40 degrees Celsius

Serbia is set to experience another intense heatwave, with forecasters predicting temperatures could soar to as high as 40 degrees Celsius by the beginning of August.

The current weather is already warm, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius today. However, a warmer air mass moving in from the southwest is expected to push temperatures even higher in the coming days. The forecast indicates sunny and warm conditions will persist through the end of this week and into next week.

In response to the anticipated heat, orange and yellow weather alerts have been issued for various regions across Serbia. The orange alert, signifying a higher level of risk, is active in Bačka, Banat, Pomoravlje, and southeastern Serbia. The rest of the country is under a yellow alert.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution. Residents are advised to limit their time outdoors during the peak heat hours and to protect themselves from the sun's harmful radiation. Special attention is also recommended for drivers to ensure safety on the roads during this period.
