Serbia Trains 1,500 Civil Servants on Microsoft AI Tools

The Serbian Office for Information Technology and Electronic Administration announced that 1,500 civil servants have successfully completed training in using Microsoft Copilot, an artificial intelligence tool. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of work within the public administration.

Mihailo Jovanović, the Director of the Office, stated that the Copilot training provides practical tools for faster and more effective work. "Through the Microsoft Copilot training program, public administration gains practical tools for faster, more efficient, and higher-quality work," Jovanović said. He explained that participants learned how to use AI to quickly search and process information, prepare content, summarize documents, and handle daily administrative tasks more effectively. Some employees also received advanced training in using Copilot within Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

So far, 1,500 employees have undergone training for Microsoft Copilot, acquiring knowledge on how to use artificial intelligence to search and process information faster, prepare content, summarize documents, and solve everyday administrative tasks more efficiently.

The training also focused on creating agents that can automate business processes, improve data processing, and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens and businesses. Jovanović highlighted the significance of this training for modernizing public services. A key aspect of the training was ensuring the safe and responsible application of AI tools, with a strong emphasis on adhering to the highest standards of data protection and information security.

Participants gained practical knowledge of applying AI in their daily work, from generating and editing content to preparing reports, analyses, and official notes. The goal is to streamline workflows, accelerate information processing, and provide more efficient support for everyday tasks within the public sector.
